  여주인공 마리아는 노래를 좋아하는 수녀원 지원자다 밝고 명랑한 성격으로 사랑받는 한편 엄청난 말썽꾸러기로 꾸중은 맡아놓고 듣는 캐릭터다 마리아의 자질을 놓고 수녀들 사이에 쟤는 천사다 악마다 어쩌고 하는 논쟁이 오갈 정도이다 그래서 수녀원장이 그녀는 소녀에 불과하다고 언급하며 논쟁을 마치기로 했다 마침 9월까지 상주할 가정교사를 소개해달라는 본트랩대령 의 편지가 원장수녀에게 도착하고 마리아의 미래를 고심하던 수녀원장은 그녀를 설득해서 본트랩가로 보낸다 퇴역군인인 본트랩대령은 아내를 잃은후 성격이 변해 7명의 아이들을 거의 군대식으로 키우고있었다 마리아는 들뜬마음을 안고 도착했지만 대령이 아이들에게 제대로 된 애정표현도 한번 해주지 않아 아이들의 성격이 조금씩 엇나가 있는 난감한 상황이었다 아빠의 관심을 갈구한 아이들이 온갖 말썽을 부려 가정교사들이 GG치고 나갔던 것이다 역시 갓 도착한 마리아를 갈궈대지만 꾸중보다는 감싸는 태도로 하루만에 아이들을 개심시켰다 결정적으로 천둥소리가 무서워 방으로 달려온 아이들과 함께 노래를 부르고 놀면서 친화력이 급상승했지만 대령은 이에 대해 아이들을 망친다며 의심을 했다 마침내 대령이 마리아의 옷에 대해 비판을 하자 마리아는 본인의 새 옷을 위해 새로운 옷감을 주문해달라고 부탁했고 마침 대령은 마리아의 부탁을 들어주며 새 옷감을 조달해 주었다 본래가 자유분방한 성격이라 그런지 아이들의 교육방식을 놓고 대령과 자주충돌이 있었으며 대령이 빈에서 잘츠부르크로 오는 슈레이더남작부인을 마중하러 집을 비운 사이에 버릴 예정이던 커튼으로 아이들에게 놀이옷을 만들어 입힌 후 데리고 나가 온 시내를 누비며 노래를 전혀 모르던 아이들에게 노래를 가르친다 이를 본 대령이 자신의 아이들이 커텐 쪼가리나 걸치고 품위없이 행동했다는 데 분노하여 따지자 마리아도 지지 않고 대령이 행하는 교육방식의 문제점을 낱낱이 나열하며 비판했다 이에 대령은 결국 해고선언을 하는데 아이들이 남작부인에게 불러주는 노래를 듣고는 순식간에 화가 풀려 몇분만에 철회한다 이후 마리아는 아이들과 인형극을 선보이는 등 집안 분위기를 훈훈하게 바꿔나간다 이를 눈치챈 슈레이더남작부인은 대령이 에델바이스를 부르기 위해 기타를 챙기는 것을 알게 되면서 막스에게 왜 내 하모니카를 챙기지 않았냐고 언급한다 대령과의 사이도 급진전을 보여 대령이 에델바이스를 부르다가 둘이 눈이 마주친 채로 묘한분위기를 연출했다 사실 둘 다 자각은 못했는데 남작부인만큼은 뭔가를 느꼈는지 갑자기 나를 위해 파티를 열어주세요 라고 나선다 그 파티에서 대령과 마리아가 서로를 애틋하게 바라보며 춤추는것을 보고 둘의감정이 이미 심상찮은 수준까지 이른 것을 눈치챈다 그러자 마리아에게 은글슬쩍 견제를 넣어서 당황한 마리아가 수녀원으로 떠나도록 만들었다 몰래 떠날준비를 하는 그녀에게 너 좋은 수녀가 될거임 이라며 확인사살까지 날리고 파티장으로 돌아간다 이 파티에서 오스트리아 국기를 보고 불쾌해하는 한스첼러 의 등장으로 트랩가의 위기가 암시되었다.....
  
  한편 대령은 마리아가 떠난것에 관심없는 척하면서 아이들에게 남작부인과의 재혼을 선언하고 아이들은 마리아가 수녀원에 들어갔다는 소식을 대령으로부터 듣게 되자 갑자기 우울해지는 모습을 보인다 이를 알게 된 엉클멕스가 갑자기 얘들아 왜 노래를 안해? 라고 언급했고 아이들은 마리아를 언급하는 대신 갑자기 아프다며 힘들다고 했다 아이들은 편지로는 작별하지 않은 것이나 다름없다며 마리아를 만나기위해 수도원에갔고 마리아를 만나러 간 아이들은 마리아가 종신서원을 한다는 사실을 수녀들에게 들었다 집으로 돌아온 아이들은 대령에게 마리아를 만나러갔다는 사실을 언급하기를 꺼리고 대신 블루베리와 산딸기를 땄다고 하다가 대령에게 들키게 되었다 그래서 이들은 저녁식사를 굶게 되었다 이를 들은 원장수녀는 마리아를 불러 Climb Ev'ry Mountain을 부르며 설득하고부업으로 수녀하시는 성악가 수준이다 마리아는 자신의 사랑에 용기있게 맞서기위해 트랩가로 되돌아간다 이때 마리아가 입은옷을 잘보면 원장실에 마리아가 불려왔을때 그 방에 있던 지원자의 옷임을 알 수 있다 그렇게 마리아는 아이들이 부르던 노래에 끼어들며 귀환하지만 물론 돌아가자마자 들은소리는 우리 아빠 남작 부인이랑 결혼해요. 그렇게 로맨스가 끝나는가 했으나... 결국 대령이 자신의 감정을 깨닫고 남작부인에게 이별을 선언하고 남작부인도 쿨하게 보내주며 빈으로 돌아간다 대령은 바로 마리아에게 달려가 고백하고 결혼에 골인한다
  그렇게 해피엔딩으로 끝나는가 했는데... 둘이 신혼여행을 떠난 사이 오스트리아는 제3제국(나치 독일)에 합병되고 본디 계급이 꽤나 높았던 데다가 뛰어난 군인이었던 대령에 대해 소집명령이 내려온다 그동안 맥스는 몰래 아이들을 민요대회에 내보낼 준비를 하고있었고 돌아온 대령은 당장 다음날 입대하라는 소집영장을 받아들고는 그날 저녁 가족을 이끌고 스위스로의 야반도주를 시도한다 그러나 집사의 밀고로 대문을 나서자마자 친나치 인사인 한스지방장관을 필두로 한 알게마이네 SS와 게슈타포에 발각되고 민요대회에 가는중이라고 둘러대지만 이들은 대령만 징집대상이라며 언급했고 대령은 내가 이 집의 가장인데 빠지면 안된다고 언급하면서 실랑이를 벌이다가 알게마이네의 호위를 빙자한 감시를 받으며 대회장으로 향하게 된다 결국 대회에 선 본트랩가는 도레미송을 돌림노래식으로 편곡한 합창을 선보인 후 대령이 소집되었음을 밝히고 오스트리아 동포들이여, 이 노래에 대한 사랑을 잊지 말라 며 에델바이스를 부른다 에델바이스를 부르던 대령이 목이메어 노래가끊기자 마리아와 아이들 관중들이 받아서 합창을 하는 장면이 일품이다 이후 본트랩가족은 So Long, Farewell을 부르며 두세 명씩 순차적으로 퇴장하고 2,3위 수상자발표가 진행되는 동안 수녀원으로 도망친다 가족은 원장수녀님의 도움으로 묘지 바깥쪽의 큰 비석 뒤에 숨어 수녀원까지 쫓아온 나치를 따돌리나 했으나 그때 추적대와 함께 떠나려는 랄프를 보고 놀란 리즐이 소리를 내고 말았다 다행히 다른 추적대원들은 듣지 못했지만 맨 뒤에서 따라가던 랄프는 소리를 눈치채고 손전등을 끈 뒤 안쪽의 큰 비석 뒤에 숨어 잠복한다 가족은 추적대가 전부 간줄알고 하나둘씩 다시 나오지만 이때 숨어있던 랄프에게 발각되어 위기에 처한다 대령은 그들에게 권총을 겨눈 랄프를 대면하면서 마리아에게 아이들을 미리 차에 태우라고 지시하고 랄프에게 한 발짝씩 걸어가며 너는 그저 소년일 뿐이고, 절대 그들과 같은 놈들이 아니야. 우리와 같이 가자. 라고 설득하지만 자존심이 상했는지 랄프는 대령을 쏘지는 않고 휘슬을 불어 찾았어요! 여기 있습니다!라고 소리쳐 그들의 위치를 알리자 결국 대령은 그 자리를 벗어나 나머지 식구들과 함께 차를 타고 도망친다 그때 나치들도 차에 시동을 걸어서 도망치는 가족을 쫓으려고 하지만 수녀들이 미리 그들의 자동차 부품을 탈취해 두어서 차에 시동이 걸리지 않아 본트랩가족을 쫓는 데 실패한다 이후 가족이 무사히 알프스산맥을 넘어 중립국인 스위스를 향해 가는 모습을 보여주며 영화가 마무리된다......

  오프닝에서 오스트리아의 풍경을 훑어준후 언덕위에서 마리아가 노래하는 부분까지.. 훗날 물랑루즈에서도 패러디된다 전주 후 이어지는 사운드오브뮤직의 대단원의 주제 알프스의 아름다운 자연에 동화되고 싶은 화자의심리가 투영되어있으며 노래가 말하고자 하는 음악의 치유의힘은 극중에서 폰트랩소대령이 아이들의노래에 감화되어 그동안 아내의 죽음으로인한 상실감으로 자녀들에게 소홀하고 지나치게 엄격했던 자신을 반성하는 계기가된다

  마리아가 수녀원으로 달려간후 영화 타이틀 제작사스탭 배우 이름 등이 떠오르는부분이다 Ost의 몇 곡들을 편곡해서 이어붙인 메들리곡이라고 보면된다 서곡과 전주라는 의미 괄호안은 주님이 말씀하신다 라는 의미 당시 뮤지컬이나 뮤지컬 영화의 특징 중 하나가 영화 시작 전 스태프 롤을 올리면서 영화에 쓰이는 주제 음악들을 서곡풍의 메들리로 짤막하게 소개하는 것이다 서곡에 이어지는 합창이 그레고리오 성가 시편창 제2선법에 얹은 영광송 Gloria Patri, et Filio et Spiritui Sancto, Sicut erat in principio et nunc et semper et in saecula saeculorum, Amen. 영광이 성부와 성자와 성령께, 처음과 같이 이제와 항상 영원히. 아멘.을 부른다

  수녀원의 시간 전례(성무일도)중에 수녀들이 부르는곡 아침 성무일도(아침기도)와 알렐루야 앞 그레고리오성가 이어 모테트형식으로 진행되는 찬미가이다 가사는 온 누리의 임금이신 우리 주 예수 그리스도 왕 대축일의 전례 중 하나인 독서 기도의 찬미가 Iesu, Rex Admirabilis 예수여 놀라우신 임금이시여 의 일부를 따와서 사용했다

  뮤지컬에서 이처럼 전통방식의 성가합창을 보여주는 경우는 많지않다 배경설정 상 마리아가 수련수녀 출신이라서 그렇기도 하지만 이와 같은 장치는 하느님의뜻 하느님이문을닫으시면 다른곳에 창문을열어두신다 와 같은 영화 전반에 깔려있는 종교적정서와 그 원류인 유럽의정취를 더해주는 역할을한다 그리고 사실 해머스타인과 로저스가 유럽의클래식전통을 미국의뮤지컬에 접목시키려는 시도를 많이한것으로도 유명하다

  본격 마리아까는노래 왈가닥 마리아의 수도자로서의 자질을 놓고 수녀들이 왈가왈부하는 노래다 마리아의 장점과 단점을 줄줄 읊으며 마무리는 결국얘를어째야하나요?우리가어찌할도리가없음 식으로 끝
  마리아의 다양한 캐릭터를 연기가 아닌(물론 극중 곳곳에 드러나긴 하지만) 노래로 소개한 재치가 보이는 넘버 주로 자연현상을 위시한 다양한 비유소재를 들어 마리아가 도통 손 쓰기 어려운인물이라는점을 재미있게 표현했다

  마리아가 수녀원을 나서 본 트랩가로 향할 때 부르는 곡 원작 뮤지컬에는 없으나 영화를위해 새로작곡된곡이다 새로 쓰여서 그런지 모르겠지만 묘하게 다른 기존의 넘버들과는 좀 다른 느낌을 가지고 있다 이 곡이 시작될 때 수녀원을 배경으로 앞서 나온 수녀들의 아침 성무일도 마지막 화음이 절묘하게 이어지게끔 한 것은 예민한사람만이 느낄수있는 백미

  리즐과 랄프가 밀회장면에서 부르는 듀엣곡 나름 유명해서 번안곡이 한국 음악교과서에 실려있기도 하다
  17살을 바라보는 16살의 리즐에게 18살이 되어가는 17살 롤프가 넌 아직 어리고 남자를 몰라 위험하니 현명하고 나이 먹은 내가 필요해 라는 연가를 부른다 이어 리즐은 반대로 난 아직 남자의 마음을 잘 모르니 현명하고 나이 먹은 너한테 기댈래 라고 화답하는 스윗한 넘버 가정교사는 필요없다며 까칠하게 등장하던 모습과는 사뭇 다른 사춘기의 사랑에 눈을 뜨는 리즐의 사랑스러움을 엿볼 수 있다

  영화에서 천둥번개가 치는밤에 아이들이 무서워서 마리아의 방으로 모이자 우울할 때 부르는 곡 이라며 마리아가 가르치는 곡 아직 마음을 열지 않은 몇몇 아이들이 마리아를 따르게 되는 기점이 된다 원작에서는 마리아가 수녀원을 떠날 때 원장 수녀가 불러주는 노래다 마음이 슬플 땐 좋아하는 것들을 떠올리면 기분이 나아진다
  심플하고 명료한 멜로디와 리듬감 덕분에 많은사랑을 받았고 재즈 리얼북에 수록되며 수많은 연주자 및 아티스트들이 리메이크와 커버를 한 곡이다 대표적으로 존 콜트레인의 My Favorite Things가 가장 유명하다
  21세기에는 아리아나그란데의 7 rings가 공식적으로 샘플링하여 이 곡의 멜로디를 도입부에 사용하였다 샘플링했으므로 저작권 문제는 클리어 뮤지컬 영화 어둠 속의 댄서의 후반부에 주인공 역의 비요크가 무반주로 부르는 장면이 삽입되었는데 굉장히 절망적인상황에서 쥐어짜듯이 부르는 거라 희망찬 가사가 오히려 더 우울하게 느껴진다

  마리아가 아이들에게 노래를 가르쳐주며 함께 부르는 노래 음계를 알면 어떤 노래든지 부를 수 있다 도부터 시까지 계이름과 비슷한 발음의 단어를 짝지어 음계를 재미 있게 배워보자는 신나는 곡이다 말장난이 많은 노래 특성상 해외 수출되면 그 짝지어진 단어들이 다 달라진다 예를 들어 도 음을 대한민국에서는 도화지를 일본에서는 도너츠를 짝지어 놓았다 줄리앤드류스가 일본공연당시에 이 부분을 일본어로 가사를 보며 부른 적이 있다

  1번에서 마리아가 부른 곡 남작부인앞에서 아이들이 합창한 버전이다 물에 빠진 생쥐꼴로 남작부인을 대면한 아이들이 사운드오브뮤직을 리즐의 기타반주에 얹어 부른다 중간에 아이들의 노래에 감동받아 대령이 참가하여 아이들과 함께 마무리하는 훈훈한 장면이 연출된다 이 노래로인해 그간 엄하고 무뚝뚝하기만 했던 대령의 캐릭터가 바뀌게 되는 영화로서는 상당히 중요한 터닝포인트가 된다 여담으로 와이즈 감독과 프리드리히 역의 니콜라스는 이 장면 촬영 후 감동에 눈물을 쏟았다고

  영화를 본 사람이라면 오스트리아의민요 내지는 국가쯤으로 착각하게 되는 곡 사실은 로저스와 해머스타인이 뮤지컬용으로 작곡한 것이다 마리아와 대령의 감정선이 처음으로 부각되는 부분이다
  사운드오브뮤직을 아우르는 큰 주제중의 하나가 바로 사랑이기때문에 사랑을 노래하는 넘버들이 많은데 이 곡은 특히 나라에 대한 사랑 즉 애국심을 담고 있다 위에 적힌 것처럼 많은 사람들이 이것을 오스트리아 민요 혹은 국가로 착각해서 현지로 사운드오브뮤직 투어를 간 사람들이 오스트리아인들에게 이 노래를 아냐고 묻지만 대부분 몰라서 실망했다고한다 지금이야 워낙 유명해져서 그 동네 사람들도 많이들 알고있다고한다 폰트랩대령이 마리아와 아이들의 졸음으로 못이기는 척 1절을 부른 후 맏이 리즐이 2절에서 짧게 함께한다

  작중에서 오스트레일리아민속춤곡으로 소개되는데 곡 이름도 독일-오스트리아 민속 춤곡 장르 이름인 Ländler에서 따온 것이다 대령과 마리아가 함께추며 눈이 맞았을 때 흘러나오던 그 곡 잘 들어보면 인형극 할때 불렀던 요들인 The Lonely Goatherd를 3/4박자로 재편곡한 곡이다

  원장수녀가 마리아에게 불러주는 노래 꿈을 찾을 때까지 어떤시련이든 참고 극복하고 도전하라는 내용 저택을 도망치듯 나와서 수도원으로 복귀한 마리아에게 역경이 있어도 희망을 잃지 말라며 원장수녀가 해주는 노래 많은 사람들이 노래가 담고 있는 메시지에 감동을 받았으며 프리드리히역의 니콜라스 역시도 내가 부른 노래는 아니지만 사운드오브 뮤직에서 가장 좋아하는 노래다라고 밝힌 바있다 여담으로 원장수녀 역의 페기우드가 노래 첫머리 립싱크를 맞추는 데 애를 먹어서 결국은 뒷모습으로 시작하게끔 촬영/편집을 했다고 하는데 햇빛이 은은히 들어오는 창문을 배경으로 뒤를 돌아서 노래하는 연출이 오히려 원장수녀의 연륜과 현명함을 돋보이게 하는 역할을했다는평이있다

  -할리우드의 유능한 감독들 중 한 분께서 저희 초대에 기꺼이 응해 주셨습니다 로버트 와이즈 씨인데요 최근에 대성공을 거둔 20세기폭스영화사의 로저스&해머스타인의 사운드오브뮤직이 비평단과 청중들로부터 여전한 호평을 받고 있습니다 와이즈씨 어서 오십시오 이미 또 다른 대박 뮤지컬영화 웨스트사이드스토리로 히트를 치셨는데 이러다 뮤지컬 전문 감독 되시는 거 아닌가요?
  -네 사실 웨스트사이 스토리를 할 때만 해도 그게 마지막 뮤지컬작품일 줄 알았고 또 새로 하더라도 그렇게 일찍 하게 될 줄은 몰랐는데 어쩌다보니 사운드오브뮤직을 하게 됐네요
  -저흰 좋았죠 웨스트사이드스토리나 사운드오브뮤직 둘 다 강한 현실성이 느껴지는데 마치 로버트와이즈 전매특허랄까요 이런 리얼리즘을 추구하려고 노력하시는 건가요?
  -네 전 항상 배경에서나 배우 접근방식 면에서 그런 현실성을 선호하는데요 뮤지컬이라고해서 이런 념을 적용하지 말란 법은 없다고 봅니다 그러다보니 추가적인 문제가 생기게 되는데 처음 웨스트사이드스토리를 할 때나 사운드오브 뮤직에서는 더 높은 차원의 문제가 있었습니다 배경을 다루면서 이 음악으로 인한 비현실성을 어떤 스타일로 처리할 것이냐는 쉽지않은문제죠 항상 계획대로 되지도 않고요 하지만 항상 그렇게 시도는 해야 한다고 생각하고 웨스트사이드스토리의 대부분의 경우처럼 그것이 잘 되면 좋은 거죠
  -그랬죠. 감독님께서 아주 효과적으로 이처럼 음악과 실제설정을 조합하셨는데 제가알기로는 이 영화 버젼 사운드오브뮤직을 위해서 새로 2곡이 쓰였다고 하더군요
  -네 리차드 로저스 씨가 작곡한 2개의 새 노래가 있습니다 그리고 저희가 해외에서 꽤 많은 분량을 촬영을 했는데 바로 원래 설정상의 장소인 오스트리아 잘츠부르크에서였죠 거의 3달동안을 거기서 실제 설정상의 장소를 배경으로 장면과 노래를 찍었습니다 다들 이 웅장한 오스트리아의 알프스와 잘츠부르크 장면들이 조합된 결과물을 보고는 흥분하더군요
  -네 그리고 출연 배우로 줄리앤드류스씨가 함께 하게되어 아주 만족하셨을 것 같습니다
  -만족했다는 말로는 부족하죠 다들 줄리를 좋아하고 실제로도 성격이 진짜 고 재능이뛰어나서 같이 일하게돼서 흥분됐었죠 비단 우리 영화뿐만 아니라 메리포핀스나 에밀리의 미국 적응기 등 근 3년 동안 영화작품을 하면서 줄리 스스로도 대성공을 이뤘으니 저희도 무척 기쁩니다
  -전에 영화를 촬영하면서 성공을 기원하는 마음이셨다고 했지만 작곡가이신 리처드로저스씨께서 보고 만족해하셨다고 하니 감독으로선 그게 더 큰 부분이셨겠어요
  -중요하죠 그를 위해서 약 1시간짜리 가편집본을 틀어드렸는데 당시 저는 멀리 동쪽에서 다른 영화촬영때문에 여기 없었습니다 저희 공동제작자인 사 채플린씨가 로저스씨한테 1시간짜리 영상을 보여드렸는데 너무 좋아했다며 사울씨한테 홍콩으로 전화가 걸려왔어요 로저스씨가 완전 황홀해 한다고요 그래서 저희로선 원작자들에게서 그런 칭찬을 받는 다는건 굉장히 기분좋은 일이었죠
  -듣기로는 감독들이 촬영을 할땐 몇 주나 몇 달로는 안 끝난다고 하던데 거의 매 순간 같이 사는 것 아닌가요?
  -그렇죠 특히 촬영할때는 정말 같이 사는 거나 마찬가지죠 거의 매일이 아침 7시 반이나 8시에 스태프집합으로 시작해서 저녁 6시 즈음까지 찍어요 그 다음엔 영사실로 가서 앞서 촬영한 분량을 보, 다음을 또 준비합니다 전 항상 아침 일찍 작업하는 걸 좋아하는데 아침 5시쯤 기상해서 커피 대본을 들고 그날 일을 계획하죠 세트장에서 일을 마친후에는 피곤하기 때문에 스튜디오로 출근하기 전에 아침에 준비하는 걸 선호합니다 촬영 전 준비를 해가면 14~16시간의 촬영이나 후작업에 있어서 활동적으로 임할 수가 있거든요
  -이러한 집중이 오스트리아 현지에서 많은 분량을 촬영을 하는데 분명 큰 역할을 했을 듯하군요
  -그럼요 덕분에 영 장면이 더 흥미진진해졌고 무대보다는 좀 더 진실성 있고 덜 동화스러워졌다고 생각합니다
  -가장 활동적인 감독 중 한분이신 와이즈씨와의 대담 즐거웠습니다 잘 이끌어 준 감독과 20세기 폭스사 로저스&해머스타인과 함께 한 줄리앤드류스씨와 크리스토퍼플러머씨는 참 행운인 것 같습니다 로버트와이즈씨 대단히 감사합니다.

  프롬(fromm)1985년7월24일(39세) 이유진(Lee Eugene) 싱어송라이터 B형 2011년디지털싱글 사랑아니었나(데뷔일로부터 5024일째,13주년) 소속사Maxine MBTI ENFP 부드럽고 청아한 중저음의목소리가 특징 음악활동은 원래는 YG에서 아이돌들의 보컬트레이닝을 한걸로 유명한 노영주에게 보컬트레이닝을 받았다 하지만 자신의 취향이 남들과 다르다는 걸 알게되었고 흥미를잃어 직장생활을 하게되었다 웹디자이너로 일하면서 계속 자작곡을 만들던중 가수 친구에게 소개를받아 한 기획사에 다시 들어가게되었다 그러나 기획사에선 자작곡이 아닌 그냥 발라드를 부르기를 원했다 자작곡들은 불만족스러웠고 데뷔는 계속미뤄졌고 결국 데모테이프를 친구들에게 돌리며 평가를 부탁하게 되었다 그리고 롤스파이크 의 김호준이 이걸 듣게되었고 마침 여성 피처링을 찾던 김호준의 눈에띄어 피처링을 하게되었다 당시 피처링한곡이 로큰롤스타 와 오버드라이버 김호준은 후에 피터팬 컴플렉스의 전지한과 쇼머스트 라는 레이블을 창설했고 프롬이 레이블에 합류했다 2011년10월 쇼머스트 레이블의 앨범 쇼머스트옴니버스 에서 프롬의 데뷔곡 마중가는길 이 수록되었다 피터팬 컴플렉스의 노래 모닝콜 에 피처링으로 참여했는데 이때 현 소속사 미러볼뮤직이 프롬을 주목했다 홍대여신으로 소문나기 시작한건 덤 2012년5월 처음으로 나온 단독 디지털싱글 사랑아니었나 를 발매했는데 꽤 호평을 받으며 평단의 주목을 받았다 그 해 7월 바로 지산밸리록페스티벌에서 공연했고 11월엔 EBS 스페이스공감의 헬로루키에 선정되어 방송에 출연하게 되었다 단독앨범은 디지털싱글밖에 없던 가수가 큰 무대에 서고 방송에도 출연한 셈 2013년 5월 디지털싱글 너와나의 를 발매하더니 다시 호평을받고 서울재즈페스티벌 지산월드 페스티벌에서 공연했다 그리고 그해 10월 프롬이 직접 작사 작곡 프로듀싱까지 한 1집앨범 Arrival 이 발매되었다 이 앨범은 호평을 받고 한국대중음악상에 노미네이트되었다 1집앨범이 호평을받자 조금씩 유명세를 타기 시작했다 인터뷰도 했고 네이버뮤직에서 라이브공연을 하기도했고 유희열의 스케치북에도 출연했다 2015년 영화 몽골리안프린세스 OST에도 참여했고 그 해 4월2집 MOONBOW가 발매되었다 2집의타이틀은 후유증 이란 곡인데 황민현이 피처링으로 참여했다 본인 왈 이런음악을계속하다보면자기들끼리만노는느낌을줄것같았다새로운걸해보고싶었다 고 발매후 네이버뮤직 4월2주 이주의발견에 선정되는 등 좋은평가를 받았다 4월25일 쇼! 음악중심에 출연해 동현과함께 후유증을 불렀다 6월27~28일엔 2집발매기념단독콘서트를 개최했다 이후 처용시즌2의 OST에도 참여했다 2016년8월14일에 인천펜타포트록페스티벌의 드림스테이지에서 공연을했다 2016년8월20일에는 광주국립아시아문화전당에서 열린 옥상달빛음악회에서 무료공연을했다 이 옥상달빛과 관련이 있는 것은 아니고 그냥 건물 옥상에서 밤에 달빛을 받으며 하는 음악회라 옥상달빛음악회인 듯 2016년10월8~9일 이틀간 첫 EP음반 Erica발매기념 단독콘서트를 개최했다 2017년1월15일 JTBC김제동의톡투유에 출연했다 매주 수요일밤 11시 랏도의밴드뮤직이라는 팟캐스트를 통해 프롬의낭만잡화점 을 진행했으나 5월31일 발매된 EP앨범 작업관계로 3월말부터 약 한달간의 임시휴업을한다고 공지가올라오고 5월이 돼서도 스토리 펀딩 나를기억해쿠바 와 관련해서 쿠바로 떠났다가 5월15일 약1시간의 임시영업 특별생방송낭만국민과의 대담화 이후로 피터팬컴플렉스와 6월 글라스톤베리 2017일정과관련하여 영국으로떠났고 결국 스케쥴문제로 7월 랏도의 밴드 직 개편때 하차했다 매주 화요일 EBS라디오 박원의 뮤직원더랜드- 뮤직라이브러리를 진행하고 있다
  정규앨범
  1집Arrival
  2013년10월8일에 발매된 프롬의 정규1집앨범 앨범발매 전 디지털 싱글로 발매되었던 사랑아니었나 마중가는길 너와나의 까지 수록되었다 앨범의 작사 작곡 편곡 프로듀싱까지 프롬이 직접맡았고 제작엔 3개월정도가 걸렸다고한다 타이틀곡은 4번트랙 좋아해 약간 빠른곡으로 다른 노래들과 비교하면 차이가 약간 느껴진다 프롬 본인도 가장 작업하는 데 오래 걸린곡이라고 밝혔다 이런 스타일의 곡을 써본 적이 없다고 1번 트랙 도착 은 자신이 서울로 상경했을 때의 경험을 기억해 1번트랙으로 선정했다고 한다 3번트랙 너와나의 가 프롬 본인이 가장 마음에 드는 곡이라 밝혔고 6번 트랙 달,말하다와 10번트랙 불꽃놀이 는 버릴까 말까 하다가 수록되었다고 한다 8번트랙 마중가는길 은 유학 간 친한 친구의 귀국날을 기다리며 만든 트랙이며 2021년 월3일 노래의 주인공인 친구의 결혼식에서 마중가는길을 축가로 불렀다
  2집MOONBOW
  2015년4월3일 발매된 프롬의 정규2집앨범 앨범의 제목 MOONBOW는 밤에 뜨는 무지개를 의미하며 누구나 화려한 이상같은 무지개를 꿈꾸지만 사실 자신만의 무지개는 잠든밤에 뜬다는 의미에서 지었다고 한다 이번에도 혼자 앨범을 만들었는데 인터뷰에서 친구가없어서그랬다(...)며 농담조로 언급했다 좀 더 대중들이 공감할수있는 노래들을 수록했다고 한다 더블 타이틀 앨범 달밤댄싱 과 후유증 이 둘 다 타이틀이다 달밤댄싱은 그냥 재밌는음악을 원하다가 목 푸는 소리 등 온갖소리를 넣어봤는데 반응이 좋아서 타이틀이 되었다고 후유증은 누구나후유증을안고살아간다는 앨범의 메시지를 반영해서 타이틀이 된 곡이고 독특하게 보이그룹 뉴이스트의 멤버 황민현이 피처링을 맡았다 낮달 봄맞이가출 그해봄 3곡은 싱글로 나온적이있는 곡으로 그해 봄은 편곡을 약간 다르게 해서 수록했다 그녀가처음울던날 은 김광석의 노래를 리메이크한 것인데 음원서비스가 되지 않는다 앨범으로만 들을 수 있다 마지막트랙 좋아해 는 1집앨범 타이틀과 같은곡인데 악기를 약간 더 줄여서 가볍게 편곡한버전이다 그래서 박수소리가묻힌다 9번트랙 히든트랙 의 가사 중 아직도좋아하거든일곱번째그노래 가 가리키는 노래는 가수 이상은의 돌고래자리 이다
  3집Mood,Sunday
  정규2집발매이후 7년이 지난 2022년12월 첫째주 일요일에 발매되었다 발매 당일 구름아래소극장에서 두 차례 발매기념 쇼케이스콘서트를 진행하며 앨범준비과정과 앨범에대한 비하인드스토리를 공개했다

  프롬(fromm)중저음의 목소리가 컴플렉스였다고 한다 어릴 때 워낙 깨끗한 목소리로 노래하는 가수들을 많이 봐서 나는왜저렇게못할까 식으로 생각했다고 예명 프롬의 정확한 철자는 From이 아닌 Fromm으로 M이 하나더있다 독일식 이름으로 피터팬컴플렉스의 전 멤버 전지일이 세계로뻗어나가라 는 의미에서 지어준것에 프롬 스스로가 나로부터시작되는이야기 라는 의미를 부여했다 프롬이 싱어송라이터이기도 하고 실제로 프롬의 음악의대부분이 부산에서 서울에 처음 올라왔을때의 상황을 담은 도착 어릴때 돌아가신 아빠에대한 기억을담은 찌잉 처럼 자신의 이야기를 담고있다거나 힘든시절에 혼자 여러가지 상상을하며 자신을달래던 기억을담은 등 자전적인성격이 강하다 그래서인지는 몰라도 이젠 나름 홍대씬에서 자리도 잡고 사는게 괜찮아졌(?)는지 음악의 정서가 전에 비해 밝아진느낌이다 1집때는 아슬프다 같은 느낌이였다면 2집은 그래 힘내자! 같은 느낌....

  한 해 한해가 지나갈수록 새겨지는 무언가가 있다는것은
  그저 지나가는시간 안에서 순간을 붙잡을수있는
  꽤 낭만적인능력을 주기도하고
  그러니까 우리의 흘러가는 지나가는 하나의삶은
  어쩌면 어떻게 살아가야 하는가보다
  어떻게 새겨야하는지가
  더 중요한 숙제일지도 모른다
  모든것을 기억할수는 없겠지만
  최대한 많은것을 기억하기위해..
  최선을 다해 하나씩 새긴 많은순간이
  가끔 예고없이 빠르게 흐르는삶을
  붙잡을수 있길 바라는마음으로....
